Imbolg, 2010

Imbolg is the festival of Brighid, who is known for three things: smithing, poetry, and healing. This is also the time of the milking of the ewes in agrarian society; an important point in the year for a tribe's livelihood. At this time of year, we asked blessings of the bright Brighid and our own patrons, as well, and had an excellent time doing so! Here are some pictures of the event:

The shrine for this rite.

John speaks with one of the rite's attendees.

Gaarik sits with another attendee, after playing a piece.

A closer view of the shrine, with the candles lit for Brighid's day.

The candles surround a statuette of the triple goddess Brighid.

We had quite a few offerings for this rite.

After the rite was over, we set up the table for feasting and a bardic circle!

We had several new people come to join us in honoring Brighid and the holiday!

John. As usual. Being John.
